Southeast Missouri State University
From the time of our founding, Alpha Delta Pi has believed in the importance of giving back to our community. A dedication to philanthropy guides our members to spend time in the service of those who need it most. Our international organization’s commitment to Ronald McDonald House Charities has led to the donation of over $15,000,000 over the course of our partnership. More than 350 Ronald McDonald Houses in 64 countries help keep families with seriously ill or injured children together when they need it most by offering them a comfortable, temporary residence in proximity to a medical facility.
Each semester, the women of Alpha Delta Pi host a Philanthropy Week filled with activities to raise money for Ronald McDonald House Charities and the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation. Activities include share nights with local Cape Girardeau restaurants, a pop tab collection among the sororities and fraternities, Pie a Pi, Big Man on Campus, Kickin’ It with ADPi, Diggin’ it with Delta Nu, and a fundraising dinner that varies each semester. Not only are these events super fun to host and attend, they also raise money for the philanthropies that we love!
The Alpha Delta Pi Foundation was established in 1983 to be able to provide support to not only Alpha Delta Pi as a whole, but to each of its members. This Foundation provides a variety of resources that are essential for the educational, leadership, and philanthropic activities of each chapter of the sorority and their members. This Foundation is able to play a large part in providing valuable resources toward strengthening the ability of successfully raising funds for the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

In addition to hosting our own events, we also enjoy participating in other sorority and fraternity’s philanthropy events. We do this by supporting them at their philanthropy dinners and participating in their various activities throughout the week.
Our chapter loves giving back to these philanthropies, and to local causes as well. In 2024 our chapter raised the most money of all greek organizations for our charity during greek week, Community Partnership of Southeast Missouri. We also enjoy supporting our sisters in need by hosting fundraisers when needed and providing them with love, support, and comfort to get through tough times.

Pie a Pi is held once a year, usually in front of Kent Library. This event is a fun way for us to raise money for RMHC! Each participant can pay $2 for a pie full of whip cream to put in an ADPi’s face. Things can get a little messy, but it is so worth it for the Ronald McDonald House!
Big Man On Campus is held in the fall as a seeding event for our soccer tournament, Kickin’ It. Each fraternity competes in a pageant-like competition. The pageant typically includes a group dance, a banner auction, “Guess that ADPI,” and other fun competitions! The money from the banner auction goes to RMHC and the boys have a fun time competing for a top seed!
Each semester, we hold a philanthropy dinner at the ADPi house (aka the Pi Palace) on Greek Hill. We like to switch up the themes of the dinners each semester. We have had Pizza With the Pi’s, ADPi’s Boot Scootin’ Barbecue, Cheese Fries with ADPi, Pasta with the Pi’s, ADPiesta, and more! Each person on campus can buy a ticket to enjoy a meal from us, all while raising money for RMHC!
Kickin’ It with ADPi is our soccer tournament held in the fall. Events throughout our fall philanthropy week create the bracket for the soccer tournament. Many fraternities and sororities come to participate in the fun! The soccer tournament lasts a majority of the day. It’s so fun to watch everyone get competitive while supporting RMHC!
Diggin’ it With Delta Nu is our volleyball tournament held in the spring. Like Kickin It, many fraternities and sororities play in the tournament to raise money for our philanthropy.
In addition to our philanthropy weeks, our sisters spend time volunteering at the Ronald McDonald Houses. This can include cooking dinner for the families staying there, visiting with those staying there, delivering needed supplies, bringing pop tabs, or getting tours of the houses to learn more about the philanthropy we care about so much.
